Social media has an ever-growing reach especially among the youth of the world. In this technology driven world, social media is becoming more of a necessity rather than a privilege. Classrooms stay connected, knowledge shared among peers and a much more accessible connection between student and educator. Alight all these advancements and benefits of social media, there is a darker side to this necessity. Young impressionable people are given access to this unrestricted network that can lead them to the negative side of social media.

The books offer a unique medium where everyone has an opinion or experience that connects in a significant way to them. The relatability comes from the stories prevalence in culture. Up to this point, however, we have failed as an institution to. In order to analyse these features i will be considering how the visual and written aspects determine the target market, what the advert sets out to achieve and how the meaning is reinforced. Furthermore, i will examine what are the roles of the linguistic strategies in the advertisement, how the advertisement positions the reader and what aspects. Different people possess different kinds of beauty and different cultures disagree on what is considered beautiful and what is not.
I've been examining the Common Core Standards and the upcoming assessments lately in an attempt to tease apart this huge seismic shift that is about to go down. And while I think it will have its challenges, I have to admit that I like what I'm seeing. For one thing, they prioritize a more accurate alignment of school life versus real life, seeking to blur the lines more than ever. I applaud this, as my own motto this year as a teacher is, "If it doesn't apply to the world outside of school, then it isn't worthy of being taught within school.
The Beauty Standard "Does this make me look fat? Your best friend may have asked it, as she was getting ready for a date or maybe you muttered these words to yourself as you stared disapprovingly into a mirror; either way, this six-word question alludes to a standard of beauty that everyone strives to meet. A standard of beauty that is almost impossible to meet.
