Power-to-gas often abbreviated P2G is a technology that uses electrical power to produce a gaseous fuel. Most P2G systems use electrolysis to produce hydrogen. The hydrogen can be used directly, or further steps known as two-stage P2G systems may convert the hydrogen into syngas , methane , or LPG. The gas may be used as chemical feedstock, or converted back into electricity using conventional generators such as gas turbines. P2G is often considered the most promising technology for seasonal renewable energy storage. Power-to-gas systems may be deployed as adjuncts to wind parks or solar-electric generation. The excess power or off-peak power generated by wind generators or solar arrays may then be used hours, days, or months later to produce electrical power for the electrical grid.

It was incredibly intuitive to use. Fighting climate change is his top legislative priority, and he has sponsored many bills including a low carbon fuel standard in Washington state. In this capacity he helps to develop and shape the policy and regulatory agenda of the Department with a focus on International Trade, National Security, Biotechnology, Research, and Renewable Energy. The US has an incredible opportunity right now to address carbon, climate smart agriculture, and renewable energy—together.
