In the United States there are still 37 states that have the death penalty on the books. Some medical experts say that it is inhuman to have the death penalty. What is it humanly to murder and get away with it? If a murderer is released do you not think that it is going to happen again?
The death penalty is the ultimate punishment. There is no harsher punishment than death itself. Currently fifty-eight nations practice the death penalty. Our nation, the United States of America, is one of the fifty-eight nations that practice the death penalty. Currently the United States will only use the death penalty, if one commits first-degree murder. Individuals that believe in the death penalty believe that capital punishment will deter murderers.
The death penalty should be abolished because of many reasons. The death penalty should be abolished because it is racist, punishes the poor, condemns those who are innocent to death, and is a cruel punishment. Death penalty should be scrapped because it can lead to the execution of innocent people. The justice system is bound to make mistakes and so, the accused people should be given achance to appeal, and prove their innocence other than being murdered because of mistakes made by judges.
