Violent video games have a negative effect because they teach children and teens that violence is the way to solve real life problems. The following paragraphs will go into details on how they are bad, how they are good, their bad effects and their good effects. Ninety-eight percent of pediatricians say violent video games lead to aggression. Eight out of ten researchers say violent video games lead. Being a person who plays video games some being violent and others being strategy based, I personally do not think that violent video games make or cause people to act violently. Yeah I will say that some games could be quite graphic but even before games came out, people were violent and acted aggressively towards each other they would fight or bully each other even kill one another they did not even need or have to play games to do such things.
Do Video Games Deserve the Bad Rap They Often Get?
One of my earliest memories involves watching a monster movie on TV. I seem to recall it involved zombies hiding in a closet and grabbing people as they entered the room. Pretty creepy stuff and, quite honestly, I probably should not have been watching it. If we are to believe some members of Congress, however, exposure to such violent images should have turned me into a madman.
Video games, television shows, and the internet all have effect on our society. These items take away from moral values, and it also undermines the instruction parents give to their children. We need a healthier world with fewer restrictions, and if negative commodities are prohibiting children from recreational play parents should be the regulators in what content their children.
