Many members of the WomensNet community have asked us about more opportunities to get start-up money. Winners of these contests often receive a combination of startup cash, mentoring, and other resources to help them get their venture off the ground. A number of successful companies have come out of these competitions, which may be why more organizations and institutions of higher education have begun admitting non-students to these events. There are also business plan competitions open to anyone, student or not.

Peddlers License A peddlers license is the equivelant of a business license. A business license is issued to home, online, or brick and mortar companies. On the other hand, a peddlers license is required for businesses that go door to door, sell on the streets or generally are a business that does not have a certain location. As opposed to a vendors license and a business license, a peddlers license is strictly for a business that it has no fixed location.
Georgia FBLA members are given the opportunity to compete in nearly different competitive events at the region, state, and national levels. Organized by Georgia Tech's Institute for Leadership and Entrepreneurship, the Business Plan Competition is open to students in all of Georgia Tech's academic programs graduate and undergraduate as well as recent alumni.
